Before the opening of the Cobra I hadn't been to Paultons since my parents took me when I was very young. This is a little surprising considering it's within reasonably easy daytrip distance from where I live. I suppose it comes down to the two main reasons people visit parks. One of those is simply for a day out, usually to a park close to where someone lives or is on holiday. The other reason people visit parks, and will travel longer distances for is to try a big ride or roller coaster.

The second reason there is probably why I'd not visited Paultons, as before the Cobra this was the main coaster at the park, meaning it would be low on my priority list compared to parks with a more appealing set of coasters.

I've now gone half the review without really mentioning the ride, mainly to fill some space as there isn't that much to say about what is a basic family coaster. You do get a bit of air time on the first drop if you sit at the back, but that's about it in terms of thrills and excitement.

A nice effort has been made with decoration of the ride area with a small pond and some pot plants. It's the sort of thing you could do with things from your local garden centre, but it's more effort than a lot of parks make with this type of ride. It's a nice effort with the aesthetics, but overall this ride offers no more than a minor distraction.
