It's amazing some of the interesting, but ultimately useless outside a pub quiz information you pick up. For instance ask most people what the first ever Mickey Mouse Cartoon ever made was and they'll say Steamboat Willie. Well that's wrong. Steamboat Willie was the first to get general release, and the first with sound, but it was the third cartoon Walt Disney made. The first one was one called Plane Crazy. Nothing to do with this ride, but I couldn't resist mentioning it on a ride of the same name.

This ride is an attempt to design a variation on a classic. The rocket style swing ride, where a rocket or plane shaped gondola hang on two cables, and then swings out as they travel round in a large circle has variations as far back as the beginning of the 20th century. Blackpool has one which is the oldest ride at the park.

The variation here is the presence of a fin at the front you can control to make the gondola point left or right. To be honest this this seems more like a novelty than an actual enhancement, it makes it look more spectacular, but it doesn't feel much different when you're riding it.

The thrills offered by this ride feel pretty tame, even for a family thrill ride. It feels like it belongs in the same group as Carrousels and Ferris Wheels, rather than with any more thrilling rides. Still worth a go if the queues short, but not one to go out of your way for.
