Gardens Golf

Technically this isn't part of Harbour Park, as it's a short distance along the beach, next to the miniature railway, but it is featured on the park map. It's also unusual for me to review a crazy golf attraction.

I'm not what you'd call an expert on crazy golf courses. If I was review a large number of them I'd probably pay more attention to the theming of the course, rather than any aspect of the hole design. This one stuck out in my memory though, due to the innovation found on it.

The course has a Pirate theme, with various objects making up some of the obstacles. A lot of it has a home made, done in a shed feel, but in a good way. It has the feeling of a lot of work having gone in to it, rather than a cheap home made feel.

This was one of the things I liked about this course, the other was the hole design. It has nine holes, which doesn't sound like that much, but it's over a space you would normally expect to find an eighteen hole course. This is because the holes have been made to a large scale, with several obstacles, and in some cases two separate area with a bridge you have to putt across separating them. This adds a lot more of a fun element compared to courses with smaller one obstacle holes. It's one I'll remember for a lot longer than more simply designed holes, and is one I think is worth seeking out.
