It's not the
first time I've seen someone try the idea seen here. What they've done is
take a classic thrill ride, and give it some inverted style restraints so
your feet dangle free. I've seen this done before with a magic carpet ride
in Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. They gave it inverted style restraints and
added fountains under the ride that turn on and off during the ride program
with your feet dangling over them at some points. The result is quite a good
family thrill ride.
Here they've put inverted style restraints on an inverting swinging ship
style ride. To be honest
here I don't think having your feet dangling free
makes much difference. O.K. your feet are loose, and there's a few instances
where being able to see down adds to the view, but it's still really just
the same ride experience of swinging on a long arm, including doing a full
circle when it reaches it's maximum swing. It's an O.K. thrill ride, but it
doesn't produce anything that memorable.
