As I start to write this I realize the main point of this review is a ride intended for 5 years olds isn't that thrilling. Baring that in mind it seems like a redundant review.

Even when I rode, it was more out of curiosity than expectation. This is a ride known as a car crash. It has 2 large turntables next to each other, that the cars circle around in a figure of eight movement. The main highlight is in the centre of the ride, creating some near collisions between cars from different turntables.

My curiosity comes not just from hearing about this type of ride, but also because this ride represents the comeback of a ride that almost seemed confined to history. In a book I read on the history of Blackpool I saw an old photo of a ride called the Cuddle Up. It looks like this with two turntables that collide in the middle, only it had teacup style cars, instead of character themed cars like you see today. I find it endearing to see an old ride make a comeback.

The change from teacups to cars does feel like a step backwards, as although the cars can spin freely, they don't really spin that much during the ride. In reality it's a glorified kids roundabout, and doesn't achieve anything more than this. It manages to do what it sets out to do, but for anyone outside the target audience it's just a curiosity.
