Drayton Manor's pirate ship, unlike my tradition of telling pirate jokes, is something that was brought back by popular demand. There used to be a pirate ship in the Aerial Park area, that was replaced by Pandemonium. After a large number of people said they missed the old one in guest surveys they decided to get a new one.

One thing this one has going is it looks the part. It's lakeside location, accompanied by some high quality theming make it one of the best looking pirate ships I've seen.

On riding it, it's pretty much what you'd expect. It sees you swinging back and forth, being lifted up at the top end of each swing. The swinging ship has been one of the U.K.'s most popular family thrill rides for as long as I can remember. It doesn't reach a high level of thrills, but provides fun and thrills at a good family level.
