Rumour is this is only a temporary attraction put in place by Chessington's new owners Merlin for the 2008 and 2009 season. It looks like that from the outside as the building has a temporary event stand feel about it. Suprisingly this doesn't seem to have affected the inside. It's a very good example of a small sized aquarium. It has a ray pool, a large underwater tunnel where you're surrounded by a great variety of fish, and a large number of other fish and sealife on display. The interior of the building also has a crisp modern feel that helps make this one of the better examples of an aquarium attraction I've visited.

The main problem with this attraction is that there are already a lot of similar attractions like this around the country, so I think it has limited appeal as a new attraction. If you've already been to one of the many good aquariums found around the country this one isn't worth going out of your way for.

I don't see this being that big a problem if this is only destined to be a temporary attraction, and there is a new drawing attraction planned for Chessington when this is removed, then I think this is a pretty good stepping stone attraction, and Merlin deserve some Kudos for going to the trouble to offer visitors to Chessington something new to do. As a long term attraction I think its drawing power will drop quickly and it would soon become just a nice part of the zoo, if current rumours are correct this won't be an issue though.
