This review is from when the ride was part of the old Beanoland section. They've been rethemed since then.

This ride is a good example of a trick that is a regular occurrence on a lot of Disney rides, and that Chessington has used on more than it's fair share of rides. Take what is a pretty standard everyday ride, such as a Wild Mouse, Pirate Ship, Top Spin, Chairswing or as here Dodgems and dress it up with some great theming and maybe a gimmick or two to make it a more special ride.

Here they've done a great job of theming the dodgem building and decorating the dodgem cars with different characters from the Beano. This ride also stands out from lots of other sets of dodgems because it has a much larger floor space than an average set, giving you more chance to gather momentum and drive at speed.

I'm a fan of the dodgems and usually have a go on a visit to a fair or park, and this is one of the better sets. The trouble is that the queue for this particular set often gets pretty long. I don't think this ride offers enough compared to similar rides which often have much shorter queues to justify joining the longer queues this ride often gets, even on a moderately busy day. If you do manage to get to Chessington on a quiet day when the queue is short this ride is worth trying.
