So what's the difference between this and the original Space Invader. Well this is a re-theming of the old ride, along with new style restraints to stop a repeat of the incident of where someone ignored the do not stand up warnings and put himself in the frame for a possible Darwin award.

One problem which hasn't totally gone are the long queues. This is a ride to try to do first thing before the queues get to bad, as the queue can get up to 40 minutes, even when the longest queue anywhere else is 20 minutes max. At least the new style of restraints increase the capacity slightly, and there are barriers at the sides of the first part of the queue area to stop it becoming to much of a scrum, and to keep the queues maximum capacity down to something within reason.

I should mention the second part of the queue is pretty enclosed, and I've seen people who've had to leave the line due to an attack of claustrophobia.

The ride itself doesn't feel that different from the original. It's still the same thrilling family style coaster, that creates the good sensation of speed needed on a ride like this. This is helped by some great scenery and tunnels you fly past as your car flies around the track. The scenery, although it's been changed is still of a similar sci fi style. Overall the difference between the two versions of this ride is pretty superficial, and both versions are great fun enclosed rides.
