If
you see this ride from either the monorail or Nickelodeon Streak (you can't
see anything but the station from ground level) you would easily categorise
this as a kids scenic ride. It's a ride where you ride around looking at
some basic models, with little in the way of movement or humour. To ride
though it is a level above this.
The ride is themed as a trip around the world, with various scenes depicting
different countries. The models although static are of a good quality, plus
the ride sets a good pace, changing scenes enough to keep up inte rest. What
takes it up a level though is the attention to
detail given to the backgrounds and gardens of each scene. It will be
interesting to see if this lasts as the ride ages, but when I rode it all
had a fresh polished feel. Although this didn't bring it above the status of
a kids ride, it made it one someone older could still enjoy.
Unfortunately
though all this good work is undone. What by? Some of the most annoying
music you'll here anywhere, and this is from someone who really likes It's a
Small World. It's a really irritating repetitive tune that spoilt the ride.
You might ask how annoying can it be. To put it in perspective
in the 20 plus years I've been visiting parks I've never once
considered an
act of vandalism. On this ride I was seriously considering doing something
to the speakers just to shut them up. If your young enough not to be put off
by the music, or bring earplugs, you can add a couple of extra points to the
score. For anyone else it's not an appealing ride. |
