This
is a Giant Disk-O ride, themed around the TV show, which I'm guessing is
about an Avatar, who bends air. Thanks for making me feel old Blackpool
Pleasure Beach.
This does bring up one of the differences I've noticed between Nickelodeon
Land and Thomas the Tank Engine Land at Drayton Manor. With Thomas Land I've
noticed it's a lot more the parents and grand parents wanting to take their
kids. Here it's slightly older kids asking their parents to take them.
The Disk-O ride consists of a giant disk where you sit facing outwards. The
disk then spins while rocking on a dip of track. It's become very popular
working it way alongside the waltzer and dodgems as a must have for a
seaside amusement park. This one distinguishes itself not only with some
crisp colourful theming, but by being the Mega Disk-O variant, that is much
larger, and reaches a much steeper angle. This adds an extra dimension to
the thrills as not only do you get the spinning but you also get an extra
thrilling burst of acceleration as the disc dives down from the top of each
swing. It's
not the most white knuckle thrill ride, but it still provides them at a good
level. It's at a level that seems right to be at the top end of a land based
around Nickelodeon cartoons. Overall a good thrill ride that delivers
everything you could reasonably expect it to. |
