Thanks,
largely in part to the London Eye the humble Ferris Wheel has had a bit of a
revival in recent times. There value as a scenic or observational ride has
been realised and a lot of places now have large observational rides for
this purpose. This one
is a relatively small one, I think one of the older family rides, rather
than one of the more modern observational wheels. This doesn't stop it
offering quite a good view of Adventure Island, the sea and Southend
seafront. However the views just aren't as impressive or spectacular as the
taller versions of this ride.
Another problem
I found was the wheel was turning a little to fast. It meant you didn't get
enough time to take in the view. It also meant taking photos difficult as
you only had a brief time to set up for each shot, plus if you don't get the
timing perfect you end up with one of the wheels spokes in the photo. |
