Going to the Poles
Part 5: Lodz
This
final part covers a trip I made to Lodz. To get to the parks it's best
to get a train to the central train station in Lodz (Lodz Fabryczna)
and get a tram from there. To do this you need to buy a travel
ticket from a kiosk before traveling, and validate the ticket when you
get on the tram. You'll need to get at least 2 tickets as there wasn't
anywhere to buy a ticket at the parks. The best tram to get is number 9
going West, which goes along the main road North of the small park
outside the train station. There is a stop right by the zoo entrance,
where you can also reach Lunar Park by crossing the road, and walking
for about 10 minutes in to the park.

Here's the parks main
entrance, located about 10 minutes from the zoo. unfortunately it was a
quiet ride, and most of the rides weren't operating, so I only got to
get photos of the rides. This is probably a park that is best only done
on weekends and the summer holidays.

Another health and safety defying Ferris wheel, with no cage around the seats.

A popular ride on the
European fair circuit, with my favorite name of any ride anywhere. It
translates as sleigh ride. Consequently I now always refer to doing my
business as a sleigh ride.

Instead of a Go-Kart track this place has a quad bike circuit.

A couple of the parks kids rides.

This ride looks like a Waltzer, although the spinning pods look smaller than ones you would normally get on Waltzer cars.

A kids chair swing with the Waltzer in the background.

A lot of the rides had a very nice job done decorating them.

The parks only roller coaster
was a Schwarzkopf Jet Star 1. Very similar to a Schwarzkopf Jet Star 2,
which was the make of roller coaster known as the Black Hole at Alton
Towers. This version doesn't have a spiral hill lift, but has a similar
track layout.

Sadly I never got to ride this. It would have been a nice way to remember the Black Hole.
