The
Eastern Discovery Tour
Day 5 |
|
|
|

The Water Park Amusement Park was a really
pleasant surprise. This was a park that wasn't even on the roller
coaster database until I spotted it on Google Maps, and reported it.
Consequently I was expecting basically just a collection of fairground
rides set up in the gardens for visitors. Instead it is a very pleasant,
well themed mid sized park, with a very respectable ride line up. |
|

One of the most popular rides was this well
themed set of Dodgems. |
|

The only downer was quite a few rides were not
operating. I don't think I missed out on any must do's but it was still
a large number of rides given it was a reasonably busy Saturday. Two of
the rides I didn't get to do were a Frisbee ride, (which had a Western
manufactures plate on it) and this ride known as a Huss Fly Away, that's
like an enterprise with lye down flying style seats. There's one at
Pleasureland Cleethorpes called Alakazam. |
|

Just like amusement parks in the UK, the
spinning mouse is a big favourite. |
|

I think this was the best Chinese spinning
mouse I did, although that could have been because the park was busy
allowing the ride to warm up. It was definitely faster, than the other
ones I tried with some nice bursts of air time on the hills. |
|

I never got to try the Chinese Top Scan
either, although they did have a technical crew on this trying to fix
it, so it might have been going later in the day. |
|

I did get to try their Chinese pirate ship.
Like the one I did yesterday this one also disengages the wheel,
creating a floaty weightless sensation at the top of the swings. I
really want to see a British park do this. |
|

I did have a slight moment of panic on this.
Just after I sat down about 5 people in military uniforms came up the
steps. For a second I was wondering what was going on, then they all sat
down and pulled their restraints down.
This was a surprisingly intense and thrilling version of the Miami ride. |
|

The most popular ride at the park, going by
queue length was this one. It's a roundabout style ride, where you can
shoot the statue in the centre with soft rubber balls from an air gun on
the pods. |
|

Another one of the well decorated kids rides
found around the park. |
