The
Eastern Discovery Tour
Day 4 |
|
|
|

This is the amusement park section of
Yanqi Lake. It contains mostly
standard rides from the range of amusement rides available in China,
such as this inverting pirate ship. |
|

Another ride was this dolphin themed tilt a
whirl. |
|

A few more rides in the amusement park area. |
|

This was a pretty tame ride. It spins around,
with the pods swinging in and out, but it doesn't create that much
force. |
|

The park also has a pirate ship. I like how
it's themed with both Vikings and Pirates. I would have complained about how
they've just lumped all Western cultures in to one group, but this park
doesn't have a glass house anywhere. |
|

The Twin Dragon was quite a good ride. Unlike
the Western pirate ships I've done the wheel disengages from the ship
when it reaches it's maximum swing. This means instead of a sharp force
from where your forced up you get a much more floaty sensation, where
you experience a weightless feeling for a couple of seconds at the top
of the swings. |
|

This is another of the games where you shoot
people with soft rubber balls. |
|

The hi-light of the amusement park was this
ride called Force Against a Swift Current. It looks like a simple one
drop flume ride at first, but I would class it as a water chute roller
coaster. This is not the best photo to see this (there's a better one
later in the report) but there's a big difference in height between the
start and end of the corner. This means your going around it at a fast
speed, rather than just drifting around it. Also at this point your not
floating on the water, or on rollers, your coasting around the corner on
the wheels of the car. This means I count this as a water chute coaster. |
|

I hope that pipe is for pumping water in to
the sewer, rather than from it. |
|

Inside the area of Force Against a Swift
Current is the Rumping Cars mentioned on the park map, or Dodgems if you
prefer. |
