After lunch we headed over to Yanqi Lake. It's a park I had never heard of until my guide had recommended it. This is a map outside the park that is slightly out of date. It looks like there used to be a kids coaster at the top right, but that now has a holiday village in that location.

If you don't hire a guide to drive you to the park this is all the information I have about finding this place. The park itself although far from a major park was a very nice discovery. It's a very pleasant location, and includes some nice unusual rides as well. I don't know if I'd say it was worth the journey on it's own, but if I visited Beijing again I would definitely try to combine here with a trip to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall again.

According to the map this place has Rumping Cars. I didn't realise it was that sort of park.

This is the park entrance. What it lacks in extravagance it makes up for in size.

One of the first things you find in the park is a nice picnic garden. This included this elephant statue. You know I saw so many statues like this around I'm sure someone is mass producing them, and selling them cheap.

The park had quite a nice range of adventure park activities, including rock climbing, a bungee geosphere, and this giant sky coaster.

The park had this rather unique looking water slide. Sadly it wasn't operating.

It starts off with a steeper slide section before you go in to this flatter lazy river style section.

A little further down the water slide.

The lake itself provides a very pleasant setting for the park. There are a number of different boats and other activities you can try, although a lot of them did require a large deposit to be left before got to try them. Another activity on the lake was this large go-kart track.
