At this point I only had about 10 minutes left before the park closed. Luckily the last 3 rides I wanted to were located right next to one another. The first was another copy of a ride I did yesterday at Sun Park, this Wild mouse coaster.

The second was a clone of a ride called the Mixer. It has two pods that spin in a large vertical circle, on a turntable that also spins, and tilts up. I've seen photos and you tube videos, and have wanted to try one. It's not as nauseating as you might think, being more of an experience ride, spinning you through a number of interesting angles at a moderate speed.

The last ride of the day was this coaster called the Space Trip. It was a pretty good compact family coaster.

This is a ride I didn't get to try at any point due to time, which is a shame, as I would have like to have been able to compare this to the ones at Sun Park.

Overall I thought Shijingshan park was a very nice park. It lacks any stand out world class rides, but it has a large number of good to great rides I would want to try on a visit to the park. Some areas of theming need a little work, but some other areas are of a world class quality, which is unusual in an amusement park style set up like is found here. It's definitely worth a visit if your in Beijing, and I reckon with a few improvements to the theming in some of the shabbier areas, and one or two major rides it could rank as a top attraction.

Due to the fact it was so late when I finished I went out one of the closer side exits, rather than the main one. This led to an interesting walk around the edge of the park, including having to cross the railway track that separates the park.

A shot of the Shenzhou coaster from outside the park.

After the park I got the Metro across the town to the Red Theatre. To reach it I got the Metro to Tiantandongmen (line 5) and used exit B. From their it's about a 15 minute walk East along the road, where you take the road North at the Tiantan hotel, from which it's about a 2 minute walk to the theatre.

The show has a rough plot about a apprentice Shoaling monk called Chun Yi growing up to become a master of his craft. This story is the setting to allow for a large number of impressive martial arts and acrobatic stunts.

The theatre also has a great souvenir shop worth checking out, plus if you buy some items you get to go on stage and have your photo taken with some of the cast.
