On day 4 we headed over to Walibi Belgium. To get here we got a train to a station called Bierges Walibi, which is only a short walk from the park.

This day was easily the worst of the trip. It didn't help that two rides we wanted to do had technical problems preventing us from ever riding them. The real problem though was it was so busy at the park. We spent just over seven hours at the park, and only got to do 6 rides in that time because the queues were so long. It didn't help that there were no signs at the front, or at any point in any of the queues telling you the queue length, or how long it was to go. This was especially annoying as a lot of the queues were hidden from view, so you didn't really know the full extent of what your committing you'd already committed a chunk of time for it.
It's a shame about this really as it seemed a pretty nice park, with a good selection of rides, that I think we would enjoy if we had the opportunity to try it on a quieter day. I would be wary of returning here during the school holidays though.

This ride is one I believe is destined for the scrapheap. It's called Vertigo, and was due to open in 2006, but due to a load of technical issues it didn't open until June 14th 2007. Despite all this time fixing it, after only a short time it was out of action again. After this a large part of it was taken away by the manufacturer, to prepare it for the next Grand opening of May 8th 2008. Unfortunately it only remained working until May 19th 2008, when it was shut down again, and has not been working again since. It isn't even mentioned on the special map for Halloween that Walibi World gave out when you brought your ticket.

It's a shame about these problems as it looks like quite an interesting and novel ride. It would also be a good ride for a park that's got limited ground space, as the rides support columns don't take that much space on the ground.

Now it's on to ride one of six. The Loup-Garou or Werewolf, which is Belgium's only wooden roller coaster. Already the queue length is at over an hour.

Despite the opportunities presented by the name Werewolf, there's not much in the way of theming for this ride, other than a woodland setting for parts of it.

Overall I thought this was just an average wooden roller coaster, not really a stand out ride, even compared to other family coasters.

There is quite a nice selection of thrill rides at Walibi Belgium, most of which are nicely decorated like this Breakdance ride.

Unfortunately with all the time we lost in the long queues for the main rides we didn't get a chance to try any of these rides.

One of the most stomach churning thrill rides on offer must be this Top Spin.

The area of the park with the best theming has to be this Wild West area.

It includes this large free fall drop tower.
